BIO:

2010 Toyota Star Maker WINNER Luke Austen has a wealth of experience for a 28yr old. This Brisbane based Singer/Songwriter released his debut 5 track e.p at the Tamworth Country Music Festival in 2009 and recently had a final cut on Troy Cassar-Daley's Aria Award winning album ' I love this place' with a co-written song with Troy on 'This town is me'.

Traveling Australia extensively for the last 6 years with country music super-star Troy Cassar-Daley's Touring Band, Austen has played major events like Tamworth Country Music Festival, Gympie Muster, Caboolture Urban Music Festival, Aboriginal Dreaming Festivals, A Day on the Green vineyard concerts, Perth City Muster, Darwin City Muster to name a few and had performances on Sunrise, The Morning Show, The Today Show, Mornings with Kerri-Anne and the Golden Guitar Awards. Before touring with Troy Cassar-Daley, Austen toured with music legend and award winning Bush-Balladeer Brian Young for four years. At the tender age 18, Young could see the huge potential in this budding star.

Luke has also played for Australian music legends including Jimmy Barnes, Kasey Chambers, Paul Kelly, Dave Gleeson of The Screaming Jets, Kevin Bennett of The Flood, Shane Howard of Goanna, Sara Storer, Wendy Matthews, Beccy Cole and Jimmy Little. After picking up a guitar when he was 6 years old, Luke has never looked back. At the request of one of his mentors, his father, Luke joined the family band at age 12 and hasn’t stopped playing since.
