Katrina Burns

BIO:

Born in Horsham, Victoria, 18-year-old Katrina Burns is one of Tamworth’s newest up-and-coming country singer/songwriters. Citing her influences as some of today’s best artists from Australia and USA, including Carrie Underwood, The McClymonts and Keith Urban, Katrina has also grown up listening to the country standards of Lee Kernaghan and Alan Jackson.
The Tamworth High School graduate has just completed her Higher School Certificate, leaving room now to focus on music. Understanding music is not a problem if her Preliminary (Yr 11) and HSC (Yr 12) results are any indication, achieving First in Course for Music 1, 2 years in a row.
Katrina only began songwriting 2-3 years ago and entered into the 2008 NAB Songwriting Competition and the 2009 and 2010 TSA National Country Songwriting Contest, gaining consistent pleasing feedback, and is looking for more chances to further her exposure.
Recently, Katrina was chosen to perform as part of the 2009 Youth Week Talent Showcase in Tamworth’s Capitol Theatre.
